Personal Statement

Next year I would hope to be in the second year of my animation and games design course. In this second year I would love to do another animation for my final major project. In around 5 years I would hope to be graduating from Bournemouth university. In around 10 years from now I see myself working as an animator for a cartoon such as family guy.

I find Animation and Games Design interesting and so I am going to pursue a course in these subjects. I am currently studying at a college in the subject field of animation and games design. I have used adobe Photoshop, Maya and animate cc.

When I have watched cartoons in the past I have always wanted to be able to create something similar. I loved the idea of being able to create whatever creature or character or effect you liked. Therefore the animation part of the animation and games design course really stood out to me as something I would like to do. I have used the software programs maya, animate cc, adobe Photoshop and Unity. I would love to see how creative I could be with my animation.

In the last few weeks of our year me and my co-workers will be undertaking work experience for a informative cartoon video. This will allow me to develop skills such as working in a team and organisation. I will be working with my co-workers however, I will also be doing some independent work within it which allows me use my initiative to figure out and solve problems.

Whilst I was attending Brentside High School, I had done a good amount of voluntary work. around year 7-8 I helped out in the schools open evenings mainly in the mathematics subject. Then in year 11 I helped out with the school production. Outside of school I had done some voluntary work at a dance company where I would assist teach younger kids who may get distracted and need the extra help.

My main hobbies include playing online games; counter strike global offensive and fortnite are the main two games I play. I also like watching cartoons such as Family Guy, American Dad and Rick and Morty. This can also stem to youtube where I watch creative animations or edited videos as well as catching up on some of the news around me.

Due to my decent amount of interests and hobbies I believe they will help me for creating my own animations and my social life at university. My

My aim is to become a animator that may animate cartoon comedies or intense cartoon fight scenes and therefore my university course will definitely help me grant access to my goal.
